Mentoring Sessions Coming!
I blogged about getting a personal mentor before. Well, now you guys will get the opportunity to listen on some of it now that Ben has graciously agreed to let me post our sessions. I won’t be posting the entire session since the sessions contain our personal conversations.
The only issue that I need to resolve is the Skype audio issue with Screenflow. It apparently does not record Ben’s voice. I’ve been exchanging emails back and forth with Vara Software, and hopefully it gets resolved soon. If not, I’ll have to bite the bullet and go back to SnapzPro. If anyone knows how to resolve this issue, please shoot me an email at joon at this domain. I’m using a USB headset and the audio setting is at Skype so it doesn’t change my default system settings. And yes, I would like to keep it that way!
Off Topic: This is Too Funny
I saw this video on YouTube. It was incredible how someone with a Mac made this music video. Then, someone else made a parody of it using WindowsXP. I almost died laughing. Take a look.
Matz Presents Ruby 1.9 at Google
Matz’s Talk at Google:
Great Talk - Zed Shaw
His jokes aren’t always appreciated and it’s really easy to just dismiss him as a jerk. But you can’t dispute the fact that he created the Mongrel and we all benefited from his efforts. Here’s a presentation he made about Mongrel at QCon in London last year.
It’s really informative as well as entertaining. You can also see why he might be bitter at some people in Ruby community.
RailsConf 2007 Video
It’s not everything, but all the keynotes are here. Best of all, it works!!!
RubyConf Video Updated
Confreaks finally posted majority of the videos from RubyConf. Time for me dive into awesome sessions.
RubyConf Video
If you’re like me, a family man with kids, then you know it’s not really possible to take attend a conference just for your pleasure. I really wanted to attend RubyConf, more so than RailsConf (there’s a reason why this blog is RubyHead, not RailsHead). I’m so glad that those guys at confreaks.com are making it possible to attend the talks at RubyConf2007.
They just posted the first video over the weekend, the town meeting with Matz.
The link to the videos is here.
I know it’s not the same thing as attending the conference, but at least I get to see and hear really interesting talks.
